This is an excellent piece. Ritch has come a long way since we saw him 2 years ago. You can understand what he says now! It was gibberish mixed with some real words then. I am thrilled to see this piece. It makes me even madder at the coward assailant. You beat me to posting this Ron. Folks need to see this!

All I can say is holy freakin' Wow! Ritch may never fully recover but it is absolutely amazing to see how far he has come. For all the criticism the health care system gets there are some amazing people doing miraculous work.

Did my heart a whole lot of good to see that.

He won't get back all that he's lost, but to see that he's starting to put in place elements that he can build a life upon and his continued support from family and friends... it's very re-assuring.  After the accident and even well into his re-hab, it was hard to imagine him progressing to the point that he has, so kudos to all involved in that progress and to Ritch himself for not giving up.

Ritch "3rd Down" Dowrey has passed away/crossed over!

3rd Down was a great man to have a beer and CFL chat with at BC Lions games tailgate parties and at Grey Cups!

He loved the BC Lions as much as anyone I have known in my time in Canada!

I believe he had his Lions Damon Allen jersey on every time I saw him!

RIP 3rd Down!
